Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using the website carsuspect.com and the services provided on it (together “carSuspect”). They form a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and the company that owns and operates carSuspect.

1. General Provisions

1.1 Agreement

These Terms govern every visit to carsuspect.com and every purchase made through it, whether as a guest or through an Account. They apply together with the policies listed in Section 1.5.

1.2 Purpose

Our goal is to provide comprehensive vehicle history reports (“Reports”) that help you make informed decisions when buying, selling or evaluating a vehicle.

1.3 Acceptance

By accessing or using carSuspect you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, you must not use carSuspect. Before every payment you are asked to confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Refund Policy by ticking the checkbox at checkout. A payment cannot be completed without that confirmation.

1.4 Amendments

We may amend these Terms at any time. Changes are published on this page and the “Last updated” date is revised. Significant changes that affect an active Subscription are announced by email or by a prominent notice on the website before they take effect. Continued use of carSuspect after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

1.5 Related Policies

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle personal data, when we refund payments and how we use cookies.

2. Definitions

“Report”: a vehicle history report compiled for one vehicle, identified by its VIN or another identifier you provide, containing information such as odometer readings, damage and accident records, theft records, ownership changes, market value and technical specifications.
“Single Report”: one Report bought for one vehicle at the price shown before payment.
“Report Pack” and “Report Credit”: a bundle of Report Credits added to your Account; one Credit is redeemed for each Report you generate.
“Subscription”: a paid plan that starts with a Trial and then renews automatically for each Billing Period, giving you a set number of Reports per Billing Period.
“Trial”: the introductory period of a Subscription, at the introductory price and with the number of Reports shown when you sign up.
“Billing Period”: the recurring period (for example 4 weeks) for which a Subscription is charged.
“Account”: your personal customer account on carSuspect.
“User”: any person using carSuspect, for personal or business purposes.
“Consumer”: a User who is a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
“Commercial User”: a User acting for business purposes, for example a dealer, trader, leasing company or workshop.
“Services”: everything carSuspect provides, including the free pre-check, Reports, Report Packs, Subscriptions and Account features.
“VIN”: the 17-character Vehicle Identification Number assigned to a vehicle by its manufacturer.
“Third-Party Websites”: websites we do not control but which may be linked to or from carSuspect.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

A Single Report can be bought as a guest. Report Packs and Subscriptions require an Account, created with an email address and a password, so that your Credits, Reports and renewals can be managed in one place. You must be at least 18 years old to create an Account or make a purchase.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything that happens under your Account. Tell us immediately at support@carsuspect.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3.3 Account Deletion

You can delete your Account at any time by contacting us. Deleting an Account ends access to all Reports stored in it, cancels any active Subscription at the end of the current Billing Period and forfeits unused Report Credits. If you want a refund under Section 8, request it before deleting the Account.

3.4 Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate an Account that breaches these Terms, is used for fraud, or harms carSuspect, our data partners or other Users. Where the law allows, no refund is due for a terminated Account.

4. Products, Pricing and What You Get

4.1 What You Get from carSuspect

Comprehensive data coverage. We compile information from public vehicle registries, insurance and claims databases, auction and market data, workshop and inspection records and other trusted automotive sources into one Report.
Immediate checks. Theft records, mileage history and rollback signals, damage and accident records, title and ownership changes.
Market context. An estimated market value and the technical specifications of the vehicle where available.
Online access. Reports are delivered online immediately after payment and can be downloaded as PDF.

4.2 Single Reports

A Single Report is generated for the VIN you enter, at the price shown on the pre-check page and at checkout. The Report is generated immediately after payment and is available on the report page and in your Account (or through the link we email you) for the period stated on the report page.

4.3 Report Packs

A Report Pack adds the stated number of Report Credits to your Account at the pack price shown at checkout. One Credit is redeemed per Report. Credits do not expire, are tied to the Account that bought them, cannot be transferred and have no cash value.

4.4 Subscriptions

Where a Subscription plan is offered, it works as follows:

The Trial price, the length of the Trial, the number of Reports included, the renewal price and the Billing Period are shown on the plan page and at checkout before you pay, and are repeated in your confirmation email.
After the Trial the Subscription renews automatically at the renewal price for each Billing Period until you cancel. Renewals are charged to the payment method used at signup.
We send a reminder email before the first full charge and a receipt after every charge.
Each Billing Period includes the stated number of Reports. Reports not used within a Billing Period do not roll over.
You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason and without a fee, as described in Section 6.

4.5 Additional Reports for Subscribers

Subscribers can buy additional Reports or Report Packs at the prices shown in their Account. Additional Reports require an active Subscription unless stated otherwise.

4.6 Prices, Currency and Taxes

Prices are shown in the currency selected at checkout and include VAT where applicable. The VAT rate depends on the country in which you are located. We may change prices at any time; a change never applies to a purchase already made or to a Billing Period already paid. Subscribers are informed by email before a renewal price changes and may cancel before it takes effect.

4.7 Reports Usage

Access. Each Report is generated for the VIN you provide and can be viewed and downloaded for the period stated on the report page.
Accuracy. We strive for accurate and complete information but cannot guarantee the completeness, accuracy or timeliness of data that originates from third parties. The amount of data available differs per vehicle and per country.
Permitted use. Reports are for your own use, personal or business, to evaluate a specific vehicle. You may not resell, publish or redistribute Reports or use them to build a competing database. Commercial Users who need volume access should contact us about dealer and API access.
Your responsibility. You remain fully responsible for any decision you make on the basis of a Report.

5. Payment

Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment service providers. We never store your full card details.
By starting a Subscription you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the renewal price to your payment method for each Billing Period until you cancel.
If a renewal payment fails we may retry it and, if it keeps failing, suspend the Subscription until payment is made.
The name that appears on your card statement is shown at checkout and in your receipt. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we resolve billing questions quickly.
A receipt is emailed after every payment and is also available in your Account.

6. Cancellation of a Subscription

6.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel a Subscription at any time in your Account settings or by emailing support@carsuspect.com from the address on the Account. No reason and no fee are required.

6.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

Cancellation stops every future charge. You keep access to the Subscription until the end of the Billing Period you have already paid for.

6.3 No Partial Refunds

We do not issue partial or prorated refunds for the remainder of a Billing Period, unless required by law or provided in Section 8.

7. Refunds

7.1 General Rule

Except as provided in Section 8 and in our Refund Policy, fees are not refunded once a Report has been generated or a Billing Period has started.

7.2 When We Refund

We refund in full when a purchase is covered by the 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee (Section 8), when a Report could not be generated because of a technical failure on our side, when the same order was charged twice, or when a payment is confirmed as unauthorised. Details and the procedure are in the Refund Policy.

8. Right of Withdrawal and 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

8.1 Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

If you are a Consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason, under Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented by the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Republic of Latvia.

8.2 Immediate Performance and Loss of the Right

Reports are digital content delivered immediately. At checkout you expressly request that we start the service straight away and acknowledge that, once a Report has been generated for you, the right of withdrawal is lost for that purchase. In practice:

Single Report: the Report is generated immediately after payment, so the right of withdrawal ends at that moment.
Report Pack: the right of withdrawal ends when the first Credit is redeemed. Before that, you can withdraw within 14 days for a full refund.
Subscription: the right of withdrawal ends when the first Report is generated under the Subscription. If no Report has been generated within 14 days of signup, you can withdraw for a full refund of the Trial fee.

8.3 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

In addition to your legal rights, we offer a 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee on every purchase: if within 14 days of the purchase you have not generated any Report, or the Report generated contains no information about the vehicle, we refund the purchase in full on request.

8.4 How to Withdraw or Claim the Guarantee

Email support@carsuspect.com within the 14-day period with your order number, the email address used for the purchase and a clear statement that you want to withdraw or claim the guarantee. We confirm receipt and refund the amount to the original payment method within 14 days of your request.

9. User Responsibilities

9.1 Prohibited Activities

You must not use automated tools (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access carSuspect, attempt to bypass payment or access controls, share Account credentials, or do anything that disrupts or overloads the Services.

9.2 Legal Compliance

Your use of carSuspect must comply with all laws that apply to you, including data protection law. Reports may contain information relating to a vehicle’s previous keepers; you may use it only to evaluate the vehicle and not to identify, contact or profile individuals.

9.3 Reselling Prohibited

Reselling or redistributing Reports without our written permission is prohibited.

9.4 Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for the accuracy of the VIN, contact details and payment information you provide. A Report generated for a VIN you entered incorrectly is not refundable.

9.5 Lawful Purposes

Any illegal, harmful or unauthorised use of the Services leads to immediate termination of your Account and may lead to legal action.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, software, Report layouts, branding and website materials are owned by or licensed to FR Consulting SIA. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the Reports you have paid for in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, publish or reproduce Reports or website content for any other purpose without our written permission.

11. Liability and Indemnity

11.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

All information and Reports are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantee regarding the completeness, accuracy or reliability of data that we receive from third-party sources, and we do not verify every record independently.

11.2 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for verifying the information before making a decision, for example buying, selling, financing or insuring a vehicle. A Report should not be the sole basis for such a decision; have the vehicle inspected and consult professional advisers where appropriate.

11.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FR Consulting SIA, its affiliates and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including financial loss, lost opportunities or lost profits, arising from reliance on a Report or from the use of or inability to use the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded by law.

11.4 Third-Party Websites

Links to Third-Party Websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

12. Service Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services, add or withdraw plans and change data sources at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. If we discontinue a Subscription plan, we refund the unused part of the current Billing Period.

13. Ownership Transfer

If carSuspect is sold, merged or transferred to another company (“New Owner”), active Subscriptions and unused Report Credits continue under the New Owner on the same terms, including pricing and renewal schedule, unless you are notified otherwise. Subscribers who do not wish to continue under a New Owner can cancel at any time under Section 6.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. If you are a Consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country in which you live. Disputes are subject to the courts of the Republic of Latvia; Consumers may also bring a claim in the courts of their country of residence.

If you have a complaint, contact us first at support@carsuspect.com and we will try to resolve it within 14 days. Consumers may also turn to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre of the Republic of Latvia (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs, www.ptac.gov.lv) or to the consumer dispute resolution body in their own country.

Your use of carSuspect constitutes your agreement to these Terms and to the policies referenced in them.
